Palmwood & Sustainability

Explore the coconut palm material behind Pacific Green furniture, its historical sourcing assessment and the details to consider when choosing a piece.

Pacific Green Answer

What is Palmwood furniture?

Palmwood furniture is made from mature coconut palms that have reached the end of their fruiting life. Pacific Green turns this renewable plantation resource into durable furniture material, reducing dependence on traditional forest hardwoods and supporting a more transparent sustainability story.

Palmwood® from coconut palms

Palmwood is Pacific Green’s furniture material made from mature plantation coconut palms.

The material uses palm trunks after their productive fruiting life, offering an alternative source for furniture and architectural pieces. The visible grain gives each piece its own material character.

Rainforest Relief’s 2010 report describes the historical sourcing and processing of coconut palm wood in Fiji. The report is available below for readers who want to examine that assessment.
